Getting started with Dashboard Lite
Creating your account
To create your account, reach out to Royal Mail for a referral link. Then:
- Sign up with Google/Microsoft or enter your details
- Select your country and currency
- Verify your email
- Enter your business information:
- Business name and URL
- Country
- Add required business details to access Zonos tools, including:
- Your Royal Mail Account Number (10 digits)
- Business address
Once your account is set up, you can access Item Quoter in Dashboard or connect via API using your key from Settings → Integrations → Account key → Token.
What's included (via Item Quoter & API)
- Unlimited item quotes
- Postal and commercial duty rates
- Multiple currency support
- No subscription fees
Coming soon
Dashboard Lite will include usage limits and new features:
- Quotes: Each store will get 5,000 free single-request quotes per month.
- Ship-to support: Quotes are currently limited to the U.S.; worldwide quoting will be available soon.
- CSV bulk upload: Each store will get one bulk request (up to 5,000 items). This is a one-time request and does not reset monthly.
You'll need to upgrade for usage beyond these limits.
Item Quoter
Item Quoter uses AI to quickly calculate tariff rates for individual products, helping you determine how much to add to your product pricing for DDP shipping.
How to calculate duty rates
- Go to Dashboard → Item Quoter
- Enter your product details:
- Item description (be specific: "handmade ceramic mug" vs "mug")
- Item price and currency
- Made in country (where your item was manufactured)
- Destination country
- Click Get result
- Review duty rates for Royal Mail postal service
- Buffer them into your product pricing
Example calculation
- Product: Handmade wool scarf
- Made in: United Kingdom
- Price: 85 USD
- Destination: United States
- Result: 9.6% general + 10% reciprocal tariff = 8.50 USD duties (Royal Mail postal rate)
- Your price: 94 USD (includes duty buffer for DDP shipping)
Need just an HS code? Enter item description only. No price or country of origin required for classification-only lookups.
Tips for accurate results
- Use detailed descriptions: "Sterling silver ring with gemstone" works better than "jewelry"
- Specify country of origin: Enter where the product was manufactured, not your business location

Shipment Quoter (coming soon)
Shipment Quoter will generate comprehensive landed cost calculations showing the total cost to deliver products internationally through Royal Mail. The system will combine product values, Royal Mail shipping costs, duties, taxes, and fees to provide transparent pricing.
Create a shipment quote (feature not yet live):
- Go to Dashboard → Quoter and click New Quote
- Select Manual quote
- Enter details:
- Ship-from address
- Ship-to address (customer location)
- Add products:
- Product description
- Country of origin, quantity, unit price
- Optional: weight, dimensions
- For multiple items, click Save and add another
- Generate quote:
- Click Get quote
- Review comprehensive breakdown: product costs, shipping, duties, taxes, total delivered cost
When to use Shipment Quoter vs. Item Quoter
Use Item Quoter for:
- Quick duty rates for individual products
- Initial pricing research
- Simple product HTS classifications
Use Shipment Quoter (coming soon) for:
- Complete Royal Mail shipping cost breakdowns
- Multiple items or bundles
- Precise total delivered cost calculations
- Royal Mail service comparisons
Features coming soon:
- Royal Mail rate integration: Real-time shipping costs for all Royal Mail services
- Complete landed cost with Shipment Quoter: Product costs, Royal Mail shipping, duties, taxes, and fees
- Quote limits: Stores will get 5,000 total quotes per month, shared between Item Quoter and Shipment Quoter (e.g., 3,000 item quotes + 2,000 shipment quotes).
Upgrades will be required to go beyond these free limits.
Zonos and Royal Mail
Calculate U.S. duties, buffer them into your product pricing, and ship with Royal Mail.
Royal Mail has partnered with Zonos to help you calculate duties upfront and price your products correctly for Delivered Duty Paid (DDP) shipping. You calculate the duties using Zonos tools, then Royal Mail handles the shipping and duty remittance.
